Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (about 1 oz)

  • 24 pieces mini wonton wrappers

Instructions

Preparation Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the lean ground beef until fully browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat to keep the bites from becoming greasy.
  • Stir in the taco seasoning packet and add a small splash of water. Simmer the mixture for a few minutes until the seasoning is fragrant and well incorporated into the meat.
  • Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a muffin tin by lining each cup with one mini wonton wrapper, gently pressing it to form a cup shape.
  • Spoon the seasoned beef mixture evenly into each wonton wrapper cup. Top each with a small dollop of ranch dressing, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar-Monterey Jack cheese blend.
  • Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the wonton wrappers are golden brown and crispy and the cheese has melted.
  • Remove the taco ranch bites from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve them warm with a side of sour cream for dipping or topping.

Notes

For a spicier version, add chopped jalapeños or hot sauce to the beef mixture. Mini wonton wrappers can be found in the refrigerated section of most grocery stores or in Asian markets. These bites can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated until ready to bake. Leftovers can be reheated in the oven to maintain crispiness or microwaved for convenience. Ground turkey or chicken can be substituted for beef for a lighter option.
