Ingredients
  

Meat Sauce

  • 1 kg ground meat
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 3 medium tomatoes, peeled and chopped or one can of peeled tomatoes
  • 0.5 cup white wine
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 liter béchamel sauce

Pasta

  • 1 kg pastitsio pasta
  • 1 cup grated cheese

Preparation Steps

  • Heat the olive oil in a saucepan and sauté the ground meat and onion until golden. Then add the tomatoes, white wine, salt, and pepper, cover and cook over medium heat.
  • Cook the pastitsio pasta in boiling salted water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  • Grease a baking dish of approximately 25 x 35 x 5 cm and pour in half of the pasta. Then cover with the meat sauce.
  • Add the remaining pasta and coat with the béchamel sauce. Sprinkle grated cheese on top.
  • Bake in the oven at 180°C (Thermostat 6) for about 45 minutes, until the top is golden.
  • Let it rest for 20 minutes, then cut into squares.

Notes

Serve with a fresh salad with tomatoes and cucumbers. Enjoy your meal!
