Ingredients
  

Pizza dough

  • 500 g flour all-purpose or pizza flour
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 250 ml water warm not hot, not cold
  • 7 g dry yeast substitute with 21 g or 0.75 oz fresh yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil

Tomato sauce

  • 3 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 8 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano or pizza seasoning or Italian herb mix
  • 1 clove garlic pressed
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • black pepper to taste

Filling

  • 1 red onion finely chopped
  • 140 g corn 1 small can, drained
  • Olives preferably already pitted and cut into rings
  • 20 leaves fresh basil whole or finely chopped
  • 150 g vegan cheese

Instructions
 

Pizza Dough

  • Mix the flour and salt in a bowl.
  • Make a well in the middle and pour in the warm water.
  • Crumble in the fresh yeast or add the dry yeast.
  • Also, add sugar and olive oil.
  • Knead for approx. 10 minutes using a kitchen machine to form a smooth dough and then shape into a ball and place back in the bowl.
  • Cover the bowl with the ball of dough and leave to rest in a warm place for approx. 1 hour until the dough has doubled in size.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the sauce and filling.

Tomato Sauce

  • For the sauce, mix all the ingredients in a bowl.

Filling

  • For the filling, mix all the ingredients in a bowl in advance while the dough is resting.

Pizza Rolls

  • Roll out the risen dough on a lightly floured work surface.
  • Spread the sauce over your dough rectangle, leaving a good 2-3 cm free at the top long edge.
  • Spread the filling, leaving space at the top and edges.
  • Roll up the dough from the bottom long edge as tightly as possible.
  • Cut the rolled dough into slices approx. 3 cm thick and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  • Preheat the oven to 200°C and leave the pizza swirls to rest for approx. 30 minutes.
  • Bake the pizza rolls on the middle rack for approx. 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
  • Allow cooling slightly and enjoy warm or cold.

Notes

The quantity makes approx. 12 pizza rolls. Can use ready-made pizza dough or puff pastry as an alternative.
