Ingredients
  

Meat and Base

  • 1 lb ground beef 90/10
  • 1 14.5 oz can petite diced tomatoes drained
  • ½ each white onion
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • refried beans store-bought or homemade
  • tostada shells

Toppings

  • shredded lettuce for serving
  • chopped tomatoes for serving
  • shredded cheddar cheese for serving
  • chopped onion for serving

Instructions

  • Warm the refried beans in a small pot over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasonings if needed.
  • Add olive oil to a large skillet and sauté the onions until tender. Add the ground beef and seasonings, cooking until browned.
  • Add the canned tomatoes and cook until almost all liquid is absorbed.
  • Spread warm refried beans on tostada shells and layer with ground beef, cheese, lettuce, and other toppings.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!
