Ingredients
  

Beef and Marinade

  • 500 grams beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste

Vegetables and Aromatics

  • 2 medium yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 unit bell pepper (red or green), sliced into thin strips
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 4 units green onions, chopped white and green parts separated

Oils and Sauces

  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce additional

Optional Garnish

  • sesame seeds

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Slice the beef thinly against the grain for tenderness.
  • Thinly slice the yellow onions and bell pepper.
  • Mince the garlic and ginger.
  • Chop the green onions, keeping the white and green parts separate.

Marinating and Cooking

  • In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
  • Let it marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the marinated beef and sear it for 2-3 minutes.
  • Continue stir-frying until the beef is cooked through but still tender.

Adding Vegetables

  • Add minced garlic and ginger, stir-frying for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the sliced onions and bell pepper, cooking for 3-4 minutes.

Combining and Finishing

  • Return the cooked beef to the pan and add remaining soy sauce and sesame oil.
  • Toss everything to combine evenly, cooking for another 1-2 minutes.

Serving

  • Stir in the white parts of the green onions and cook for one more minute.
  • Garnish with green parts of the green onions and optional sesame seeds. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

For extra tenderness, slice the beef thinly against the grain. You can substitute flank steak with sirloin or any preferred tender cut of beef. Adjust the soy sauce amount as needed. Optional sesame seeds can add texture.
