  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal later.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove it from the heat and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  • Allow the butter-sugar mixture to cool slightly. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined—avoid overmixing!
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake in your preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool in the pan. Once they are cool enough to handle, cut them into squares and enjoy!
